OUR PASTOR

 

Reverend Anthony Farrar was born on January 2, 1957 to Reverend
Calvin T. Farrar, Sr. and the late Mrs. Annie Mason Farrar.  He graduated from Cary Senior High School in June 1975 and attended Wake Technical Community College receiving Certification in the field of Engineering Testing.  He is employed with Falcon Engineers Inc. as a Senior Inspector.

Reverend Farrar is married to Mrs. Slestine Blue Farrar and they have
three children:  Ineke, Rendell and Tamanda; and two grandchildren:  
Kamya and Jada.

Reverend Farrar was called to the ministry by God, preached his initial
sermon on August 16, 1992 and received his license on that same day.  He received approval for ordination from the Ordination Council of the
New Hope Missionary Baptist Association and received the highest
academic score that has ever been awarded by the ordaining council. He was ordained at White Oak Baptist Church on September 19, 1993 by the Reverend Charles R. Tyner, Sr.  Reverend Farrar is also a member of White Oak Baptist Church, Apex, North Carolina and worked in various capacities. He was also a member of the family gospel singing group - the Variety Jubilaires of Cary, North Carolina.

Rev. Farrar attended the Bible Study Fellowship Institute for three years
before entering Shaw University.  In May 1999, Reverend Farrar
graduated Summa Cum Laude from Shaw University in Raleigh, North
Carolina, with a B.A. Degree in Religion and Philosophy.  He received his Master of Divinity Degree from Shaw Divinity School in January 2005.

In August 1995, Reverend Farrar accepted the call to pastor Faith
Missionary Baptist Church of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina.  He has
recently served as Vice President and President of the Fuquay-Varina
Community & Vicinity Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance.  In 2006 he received the “Preacher of the Year” Award from a community
organization.  

Reverend Farrar's goal is to continue to strive for the up-building of God's
Kingdom.
